RT @DroughtGov: Next week, CA should see an atmospheric river heading its way, per @NOAA’s @NWSCPC. The Southwest could benefit too.

In contrast, relatively dry across the North, Midwest, and East.

Temps: Likely warmer than normal for just about all of the USA. drought.gov/forecasts @NWS

RT @DroughtGov: Spotlight on the Northwest, where conditions are…complicated

Parts have received copious moisture the last 2 weeks. But snow water equivalent isn’t good outside of E OR and S ID. Temps have been relatively warm, which is typical w/ an El Niño. drought.gov/ @NOAA

RT @DroughtGov: #DroughtMonitor 12/12: More rain means less drought for the South/Southeast. However, SE AR, N LA, and N MS have mostly missed out.

Opposite for the Midwest. A few improvements were surrounded by degradations. #Drought2023's Footprint: 28.0% of US drought.gov @NOAA

RT @NWSLosAngeles: Current satellite imagery shows the next low (comma shaped clouds) west of the Pacific NW, associated with our upcoming chances of rain beginning Sunday.  We are expecting the main low center to pass well to our north, so that could limit rainfall totals. #socal #cawx

November 2023 was the hottest November on @nasa’s temperature record, GISTEMP. That makes this fall (Sept-Nov) the hottest on record. In fact, the last six months have all broken records, continuing the long-term warming trend caused by human activities.

The monthly GISTEMP surface temperature analysis update has been posted. The global mean temperature anomaly for November 2023 was 1.44°C above the 1951-1980 November average. go.nasa.gov/2PakncL - NASA GISS
