As reported by @CopernicusECMWF, September 2023 was the warmest September globally in the ERA5 data record going back to 1940.

Back in May, a study used #satellite data to highlight the effects of the so called 'Arctic amplification', a series of cascading effects caused by a higher local temperature increase, compared to the rest of the planet.
