👩‍🌾 Women and girls are key stakeholders in biodiversity conservation and sustainable use. As critical stewards of the environment, they bring a wealth of traditional ecological knowledge, play a vital role in passing down wisdom to future generations, and have unique skills and experiences in ecosystem management. They also disproportionately suffer the effects of threats like climate change, drought, and natural resource scarcity. For these reasons, they are essential to conservation and restoration solutions.

👩‍🍼Alongside the whole of @IUCN, the Forest and Grasslands Team is committed to advancing gender-responsive conservation approaches to address gender inequality in natural resource management (https://t.co/J4AbtdENic). Through a diverse portfolio, FGT and the wider Union are advancing women's leadership, providing financial support for women in scaling up responses to the triple planetary crisis, and working to prevent gender-based violence.
