On 26 May, the Kīlauea volcano in Hawaii erupted for the 23rd time in an off-and-on sequence that started in late December 2024, with episodes lasting from hours to days.

This @copernicus_eu Sentinel-2 image was captured on 26 May, showing lava flowing from the crater. According to the 27 May bulletin from @USGS, "the ongoing Halema‘uma‘u eruption is currently paused".
