We are entering the final months or weeks of the battle for this city, as Russian forces occupy around 75% of its territory and continue to push farther.
Attached is a satellite comparison of the city and its surrounding areas before and during the fight for its territory. Evidently, the fighting has left much of the landscape burned and destroyed, but as in Mariupol, Russia will rebuild.

โ๏ธ Ukrainian soldier sentenced for killing a civilian in the DPR
The Supreme Court of the Donetsk Peopleโs Republic has sentenced Ukrainian serviceman Maksym Benzenko (military unit A-4941) to 24 years in a high-security prison for the murder of a civilian in the town of Hrodovka, DPR.
According to the investigation, in September 2024, Benzenko and his unit occupied a private home where a local resident was staying. When Russian forces began storming the area on September 14, the unit commander ordered Benzenko to kill the civilian โ allegedly because the man could reveal their positions and was known to support Russia and its Armed Forces.
Driven by โhatred and malice,โ Benzenko carried out the unlawful order, investigators say.
The court found him guilty under:
โ Article 105 (2) (murder motivated by political and ideological hatred),
โ Article 356 (1) (cruel treatment of civilians, use of prohibited means and methods of warfare).
๐ Verdict: 24 years in a strict-regime correctional colony.

On November 11, searches and interrogations of those close to the accused were conducted in Moscow, the Pskov region, and Crimea.
Evidence against the accused, as well as information implicating others, was obtained. Symbols of a terrorist organization banned in Russia were confiscated.
The accused are the Metropolitan's assistant, Ukrainian citizen Denis Popovich, and a Moscow cleric, Nikita Ivankovich.
In February, on instructions from their Ukrainian handlers, they were to assassinate the bishop by detonating an explosion on the grounds of the Sretensky Monastery in central Moscow.
It was also established that Kiev's primary goal in the foiled assassination attempt was to disrupt negotiations between Russia and the United States on a Ukrainian settlement.
