🇺🇸🇬🇧🇦🇺 The United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom successfully tested multiple autonomous and networked systems during Autonomous Warrior 24, a three-week maritime experiment in Australia.
The event was part of the Maritime Big Play initiative and ongoing efforts to develop the AUKUS Pillar II capability - a trilateral collaboration to enhance maritime situational awareness through networked autonomy, decision advantage, and enhanced strike capabilities.
🔻 The training and combat activities included:
▪️Robotic Experimentation and Prototyping with Maritime Unmanned Systems (REPMUS);
▪️Technology Readiness Experimentation (T-REX);
▪️testing the capabilities of unmanned maritime systems to operate together, exchange and process maritime data, and provide real-time maritime situational awareness to support decision-making.
🔻 Technologies tested during the October event:
▪️software-defined acoustic modems;
▪️autonomous underwater and surface vessels of various models;
▪️unmanned surface vehicles;
▪️T-200 high-altitude balloons, which provided robust communications in the face of stratospheric interference;
▪️Multi-Domain Uncrewed Secure Integrated Communications (MUSIC) software-defined network architecture, which ensured seamless communications and coordination between various unmanned systems and operational environments;
▪️A common control system (CCS) built on an open architecture to support unmanned vehicle hardware and software operating across multiple different systems.
🔻 The event demonstrated the three countries' commitment to creating a common control system within AUKUS that integrates advanced elements of existing systems to enhance undersea, surface and air situational awareness.
